Thank you. All is good so far. Having so much fun I didn't even know today was New Year's Eve until a neighbor reminded me

Hey, congrats!! I'm glad you two made it OK. Missed the Big Moment because I was in the US and just arrived home last night. So how's the surf?

Gracias, we're still getting settled. Unfortunately there's really no surf here in the winter, flat like the Sea of Cortez. Surf's mostly a summer thing. We're doing lots of paddleboarding and organizing though.

It wasn't dry!

Well, at least you didn't have to swim across with your possessions on your back!

Looking forward to the next phase of your adventures!!

Wading in was easy and it wasn't too deep. Mostly checking for hazards like the exposed rebar (bottom left) .




It's not a main road so it took awhile for another car to take the plunge so we could choose the best route. There's almost always water here, but there used to be some concrete across before Hurr.'s John and Jimena and this was our first time back since Jimena.




Oh wait - I forgot this is "somewhere near the border" .

Either way, I rather be the wader than the poor guy who had to drive our wordly goods through unchartered waters!

It was a successful crossing and we're going back to pack for voyage #2.

How did I KNOW YOU were the wader?! I think hip-waders might be a worthwhile fashion accessory for your new job! Please pass that along to "He who shall remain safe & dry in the truck"!

Hey!!!!!

Made it back. Second trip went smoothly except that I hit something underwater crossing the river in the above picture and punctured a trailer tire. Post more about the trip when we get settled. Good to be home, although it still feels weird to call this "Home".
