Point me to the guest room and when you can't take any more of me, just roll me down the hill to my front door.

My house is now 99.9999% complete. Just a little painting on the outside to be done. Moved furniture down Monday also. Here are the latest photos. The photos are of the stairsgoing upstairs, the upstairs family room, the upstairs bedroom, and the upstairs bathroom. Also a couple of view of the bay fotos The fencing will be done February next year when I am fully moved in and RETIRED.

Beautiful, well done! I love the warm red and yellow in the interior and the windows on the staircase.

I love that this thread begins with your bare lot, and ends with you getting ready to move in furniture! Beautiful home, great job.

Too bad you couldn't get a lot with a view

I'm looking forward to the next installment on both BigWoo's and BajaGringo's home building threads as well.

It is great for me, as a wanna be, to see folks out there doing it, and seeing how well it is turning out! Great projects, and, I'm sure that all of you can't wait to be done!!

Nice job AA. Brings back lots of memories from 20 some years ago when we went through the same process here in Loreto/Nopolo. Was well worth it.

I just looked through this thread for the first time tonight. Unreal watching the progress since 2009. What a beautiful view too! You must be so excited that it's all done and you are retired and in there for good.

Your home is gorgeous, and I'm wildly jealous. Arches, heavy wooden beams, mosaics... Similar to what I imagine heaven to be like.

Awesome home!

I see electricity and telephone service is available. At what cost?

Im curious also, when you are on city water and electrical, are the rates in Baja California generally higher than in the San Diego area, or lower?

In San Diego your water bill has a sewer fee. They don't care how much you flush in Baja. We are moderate water users with container plants and our water bill runs about $40 every two months (We have a pila under the garage, but rarely need it). Electricity is trickier. The price per KWH steps up higher the more electricity you use. You can have a very cheap CFE bill if you live humbly and in the dark like your Mexican neighbors (those that don't have "diablitos"). But if you're running multiple freezers, TV's, PCs and the full range of electrical appliances and gadgets, you won't save much. We are energy hogs and spend about $350USD per month on electric. Every area differs significantly though. What also differs is the quality of the power in México. Have a plan to thwart "brown outs"

Get off-grid like BajaGringo and pay nada!
