We get all kinds of sunrises down here....soft, bright, intense & everything in between! If you don't see one you like today, just wait until manana!

Amazing !! Being on the same side of the peninsula, it always amazes me that we don't get any of these marvelous sunsets.
Here the sun only comes up.

We have those days here too....I just can't work up enough enthusiasm for going out & taking pics of the nothing ones!

Also, what time you getting up? To capture the good ones, you gotta be up BEFORE sunrise!

Maybe there is a camera out there you could just set up to automatically take the pictures for you at 5:00 AM?



This new king size mattress is feeling awfully good in the early morning...

The cloud patterns tonight looked a bit like a little kid finger-painted them!!

Alas, some SOB (who I'm certain will be a very nice neighbor!) had the audacity to start building at the left edge of my sunset view & another lot farther to the right just dozed up to the crest in the center of my range, so these more "remote looking" sunset shots might be going the way of the dinosaur! I hope you enjoy them while they last!

I hear you Legz. Some have asked me if I regret now not buying ocean front and building a row back as one day somebody will inevitably take the view away from me to some degree.

My answer? I'll just buy the lots in front of me...

That might work with your budget.....but remember, I paid $1,246,119 for my property, so I ain't got the budget left to buy for a mile in each direction! Besides, those messing with my sunset pics are behind me....can't nobody screw up my best views of the bay, lights of La Paz, mountains behind La Paz across the bay & sunrise views.

It might be cheaper for you to just build a crows nest up top, though I seem to recall a pitched roof everywhere but the guest room.

I spent too many years living in houses with stairs. This one is going to stay all on one level...

But I just realized that I had a typo in the amount on this thread....it should have been $1,246,119. In all honesty, I paid $320K PESOS for 1600 sq meters.

BG, I hear you....I also have an aversion to stairs & multi-levels....there's no walking elevation change greater than 6" in my place & the views are just fine from ground level....unless the viewer is really short!!

Oh, that's right. I had read that before but apparantly the damage I have done to my brain prevented me from remembering.

It's not that I mind using stairs so much as I came to the realization that you end up spending 80%+ of your time (awake) on one floor of the house, which effectively reduces your living space square footage in half.

I keep telling folks that 1500 sq ft in a one story house is bigger than 2200 square feet in a two story house. After you add in the space lost to stairs and upstairs hallways it really makes a big difference.

Another thing I have noticed is that ground level decks get used a lot more than roof top patios.

But that is just me...
