Sunday April 3....4:friggin:30 AM....I was awakened by the sound of my water pressure holding tank (WPHT) pump filling the tank....& filling & filling & filling & filling!! You know how when a sound that shouldn't be there wakes you up with the sudden realization that the sound has been registering in your slumbering sub-conscious for quite some time? I rolled out of bed & went out back to see if I could figure out what was causing it to run non-stop....the first bad sign was when I stepped out of the doorway onto the back patio....into water! The second bad sign was that the entire equipment room was dripping water....including the electrical outlet the WPHT was connected to. Thankfully, I have a dedicated electrical panel for the equipment room in an adjacent compartment. Even after I threw the breaker for the WPHT, I continued getting showered by the water spraying out from a ruptured rubber tube! Little did I realize at that moment, it'd be the last shower I'd get for the next 2 days!

Perspective here....Sunday pre-dawn & coincidentally the same day that we changed to daylight savings time. Admittedly, I'm not a morning person, even less so under the then present circumstances, given the time of day or night....whichever it was! I politely waited until the civil hour of 8 AM (I think!) before attempting to call a builder friend....NO! Not my builder! I called a reliable one! Remember, I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box at that hour, so what time it really was was lost on me! But I was sharp enough to realize that to most of the world, it's still the old time at that time of day the first day we switch times!! Inexplicably, the call was somehow disconnected & I decided to try e-mailing rather than calling a second time! Well, adding insult to injury, my internet connection has been "somewhat less than reliable" for the past 2 months, but I was finally able to coax a connection & send a message to the outside world!

Between the non-drinking plumbers who were heading to church & the hung over ones who couldn't crawl out of bed to answer their phones, I finally received word that a local plumber would be here in 10 minutes. Amazingly, he was! A trip to Home Depot later, he had me back into a water only-on-demand situation. The new bad news was that my previously 90% cistern was now down closer to the -5% level....why does this crap always happen right after you fill the cistern?? Monday, a call for my trusty amigo Fito's peepa netted me the discovery that the always temperamental pump for the well that supplies all the water delivery trucks was broken (again!) & they weren't sure how long it'd take them to get it working again! Tuesday....city well pump still down, but my buddy Fito promised if he could fill his truck, he'd be here by 8 AM Wednesday.

Fast forward to Wednesday AM....VERY AM....o'dark:30....I'm awakened by the sound of my dogs going ballistic....Jenny howling as only she has perfected & Maggie's total failure of attempting to imitate her older sister! Finally, it dawned on me that there was background noise underlying the dogs ruckus....the sound of a pump running! I rolled over & peel one eyelid open to look at the clock which told me it was 6:friggin:15 AM! I staggered through the casa in the dark to discover that my amigo Fito, true to his word, put me into the first delivery slot of the day! Finally!! Water for coffee! I staggered out to the gate in my nightshirt in a total blur, slipped Fito $600 pesos through the gate, thanked him profusely & staggered back into my casa. Somewhere during that trek, it registered on my sub-conscious that sunrise was going to make it worth having been rudely awakened at that ungawdly hour!

So these Wednesday sunrise pics are brought to you compliments of a ruptured piece of rubber tubing on Sunday....but most of all Fito!! Out of the ashes, a flower shall bloom!

Is 10:25 AM too early for a siesta??

Once the losa is poured on my new garage I promise to make some time for some afternoon sunset pics. Up there should be a great view - how's that???

Legs... is that water vapor in the air... looks hazy... but, don't think ya got "smog" down your way...

Wessongroup, La Paz was all socked in across the bay from me this AM with what appeared to be fog....& you're right, La Paz doesn't have LA-type smog! Maybe Kate could confirm or deny fogginess in town this AM? Hmmmmmmmm....it's still hazy looking toward town, but the earlier fog appearance has almost burned off.

Sorry, but I didn't wake up until almost 8 a.m., and everything was clear and bright by then!!

Catch-up time....Bing & I have been sharing & capturing dramatic sunrises & sunsets together....he just reminded me it's time to share a few! Enjoy!

As soon as I get a break in construction, we're coming to "the other side" for some of that warm weather and to see those sunrises in person!

Wow - a couple of those almost appear to be painted!

I don't do paint by number! I don't even photoshop anything....if I don't like it, I delete it & wait in the bushes for another opportunity to capture the moment!

You probably just blend in with all the rest of the paparazzi there hiding in the bushes...

I KNEW the camera wouldn't capture the intense raspberry color of the sun that my eyeballs saw! But it did capture the enormity of the sun as it slowly rose over the hills behind La Paz! Let's see whether or not Soulpatch happened to enjoy this sunrise from his place in town....or if they slept in & missed it!

Gorgeous photos and a beautiful morning!

This morning was another vibrant raspberry sunrise; which for some infuriating reason my camera doesn't capture as the same color/intensity that my eyeballs do....and no, I'm not colorblind!

I think an appropriate title for the second pic would be "Sunrise through the spiny goalposts of life"!

It never ceases to amaze me when Russ & I take pics of the same sunrise from our own individual vantage points, how different the colors are!
