ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!! I love what you did on your bano walls! Did you get idea from the much smaller-scale displays at Interceramic?

You've got to be pleased with how it's all coming together!

Maybe a huge glass bubble to keep it clean & wind-free? It'd keep the cats corralled, too!

Default Cabinets by Bajacarpintero

We hired Bajacarpintero to make our cabinets http://www.bajawoodworking.com

After researching cabinet makers, Home Depot, La Paz, an importing, we decided to use Bajacarpintero. From my first conversation with Chris, I was sold. Then when I saw photos of his shop...I was REALLY sold. I've never seen such an organized workshop!

We sent Chris a set of plans and measurements of what we were looking for. We agreed that I would make all the measurements he requested, since it's about a 3 1/2 hour drive to our house from his shop. We communicated purely via email (we don't have reliable phone service). After several back and forth emails, he went to work. Chris kept us updated and sent pictures throughout the entire process.

On install day, we were very anxious, having never seen his work other than internet pictures. The cabinets were much, much nicer than we had hoped for.

The design in these pictures is what we ordered. We wanted something simple, but rest assured, I have confidence Chris can make just about anything if you wanted more ornate cabinets.

Chris hauled the cabinets to our house in his fifty bizillion foot long trailer, along with all his tools. He spent the better part of two days installing them.

He built our kitchen cabinets:

Pantry:

Bathroom Cabinets:

and a set of drawers in the closet:

After meeting Chris and working with him on designing the cabinets (Ok....my wife worked with him designing the cabinets ) I would highly recommend him for any cabinets, or other woodwork. He's very professional, friendly and easy to work with. When I get more of this construction behind me, we'll definitely have more work for him.

Thank you Chris!

Okay, I'm sold!! I'll use him for casa #4!

You're right!!! Even though I'm looking at pics rather than the actual finished product, his quality & expertise shines through!! He's a fine craftsman, not a carpenter!

Looking amazing!! Will you be ready to host a Christmas party?

The masons finished last week. Still have a lot of painting, plumbing, a bit of drywalling and electrical to do.

Anyone want to bring a paint brush...you're welcome to help out.

Finally have a second to post a couple more pictures. Finish work, which we're doing ourselves, is taking nearly as long as the construction did!

The exterior painting is finally done:

Along with interior work, we are trying to get some landscaping done. Some of the soil we brought in wound up being really salty which is limiting what will grow:

The inside is a mess right now as we have several projects going on at the same time. I'll have to get some photos when we get it cleaned up.

It looks great. I especially like the slate mosaic for the shade room supports. A very nice piece of work. Congratulations on building your dream!

Thank you Wooosh. Kitchen is finally DONE. Check that off the list.

We had Daniel Ortiz, of D'La Toba marmol y Granito do the countertops. After experiencing his work I wouldn't use anyone else. A true professional. He has many years of experience shaping and installing granite in the U.S.

He will travel to Loreto and I'm pretty sure La Paz. He speaks english and his shop is located in Insurgentes, about a kilometer or so east of where the road dead ends at junction to Constitucion/La Purisima.

Stunningly simple and beautiful kitchen. Just perfect. The whole world tries to copy the "American Style Open Kitchen" because it becomes the heart of our homes. Who would not want to cook in that kitchen or enjoy a meal at the island counter? Ortiz does nice work.

So how much longer before you guys plan on moving into "The Big House" from the casita?
