So how much longer before you guys plan on moving into "The Big House" from the casita?
Gracias, the cutting board is the cut-out from the sink. Daniel took it outside, I heard a tool or two fire up, then he came back 5 minutes later with a cutting board. He even put little rubber feet on it.

We're getting close to moving in. Still have to clear everything out of the room we've been storing materials in and paint it (which is going to require a complete re-orgainzation of the garage ), then tile both bathroom countertops, build some shelves, a closet, and do a week or so of little pick up work. I'm hoping we'll be in by the middle of next month, which will be about the two year anniversary.

Very impressive! Most granite contractors woulda called it waste material!

Are you getting excited to move in....or are you both too weary of perpetual construction & seemingly endless projects to work up much excitement? Life's going to be so dull & boring when you "finish"! You may actually have to surf!!

Boring? Nah. You get the endless cycle of home maintenance to keep you busy- forever. It never ends. I love it, some hate it... but it does keep you busy.

What a nice place you guys have down there. I really like the kitchen and arches you had built. But after seeing all the nice pics of houses you guys got down here there is no way in hell I am going to post any of our place. I think we must live on the other side of the tracks from you.

Thank's for the nice comment, but there's no "tracks" in Baja. It's all about wheather you enjoy where you are. Twenty something years ago we started out with a 1970's era trailer under a palapa.

Woooosh: I already have a "list" of maintenance projects for the casita and garage that we built 6 years ago. Every once in a while, I have to move something to the #1 position and put construction aside. I don't think I will ever be bored. I love when people ask me: "But...what do you do all day down there "

I truly enjoy house maintenance. I care about the houses I build and to me the house is like another family member I am responsible for. Most of my neighbors have helpers and just watch them work- I get right in there with Alberto and do it all with him. I am always training him to do preventive maintenance on the house systems and showing him how things work. No fresitos here, which really surprises people who expect us to be fat, happy and lazy. I'm just fat and happy.

Me too. I love to work on the house and the good news is that we have so much to do here I can keep busy right up to the day I check out, which is just fine with me.

I can relate BigWooo. I am often awake before 5:00AM, laying in bed and thinking about all that I want to get done when I get up. The day flies by so fast it is often after 5:00PM before I even check my watch for the first time. I need longer days...

It's on the Pacific side about halfway between Mulegé and Loreto.
