I missed two (#3, and #15)... and I dispute 15... A female olympic star played Peter Pan before R. Williams, can't recall her name now, but I never heard of Mary Martin...?

Mary Martin was famous for her role as Peter Pan and also for her role in South Pacific to name a couple.

Couple of other LATER female Peter Pans were Sandy Duncan and Cathy Rigby---the one you are thinking about.

Uh oh....That musta been Charles' grandmother?? Most of us weren't even thought of in 1924!! Some of our PARENTS weren't even born in 1924!!

It doesn't appear that my attachment is going to display here....is there a moderator in the house who can clean up after me & fix that?
Did I veer Off-topic??

Wikipedia:

Q: Who played Peter Pan in the original movie - Not Disney?

A: If memory serves me correctly, it was Mary Martin.

FriPilot

Actually, the first movie was a silent film made in 1924 by Paramount Pictures. Betty Bronson played the role of Peter Pan.

I guess it is easy to get confused by those cute little green suits.

Not nice to make Peter Pan angry.

It came to me today while we were doing some errands...

Thank you, it WAS Sandy Duncan who I (and Baja Angel) both remember playing Peter Pan... Neither of us heard of or saw 'Mary Martin'... but I guess it is an age thing and we just don't have the number of years of movie watching as LongLegs! LOL

HOW MANY YEARS of movie watching are you imagining that longlegsinlapaz has had?

When my family was crossing the plains in the original "soft-top" conveyance (where did you THINK the term "rag-top" came from?), Pa would keep driving those poor old dusty oxen from campsite to campsite until he could find one with all the new-fangled conveniences like electricity, two-holers, hot showers & fresh popcorn at the concession stand so after we staked the animals out to graze, did our chores & washed the dishes in the creek, then we could finally settle into our bedrolls under the wagon to watch the old B&W Zenith! BTW, that old set had a manufacture date after YOUR manufacture date & was purchased nigh on about the time I'd have expected you to be out of diapers!

"WE" would signify the two of you, so I'm gonna venture a wild-hair guess that your combined movie watching years far exceed mine.

To help you narrow it down a little....the Crusades were over, King Tut was in his tomb, they WERE issuing paper birth certificates, color TV was on the drawing boards, Black Friday a distant memory, WWII was over, 's, bra burning, peace, free love, Rock 'n Roll & Viet Nam hadn't been thunk up, while commercial air travel was the up & coming thing, man hadn't yet landed on the moon, Lawrence Welk was in his heyday & the Beatles had yet to be born....so just HOW MANY YEARS are you giving me credit for?

Obviously, you haven't seen how legs treats me over on Nomad! LOL

I still try and play nice, a little joke now and then to crack a smile... Sorry if it was too offensive! Have a nice day everyone, I'm off to the fair!

Here's a bit more trivia on Mary Martin: When she sang I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair and One Enchanted Evening, in South Pacific, her co-star was Ezio Pinza, a well known Opera baritone.

Larry Hagman, of the TV Series Dallas (Who shot J.R.?) is her son.

As Peter Pan, she predated Michael Jackson.Music

However, for you toneart, Kiri Te Kanawa did a recording of the score of South Pacific that, IMHO is very interesting.
