Re: Hummingbird Feeders Baja
All the birds in the Loreto photographs are either Costa's or Xantu's. In San Diego it's almost all Anna's with some Black-Chinned, Allen's, Rufous and Costa's.
I'm curious how far south you have to go before you stop seeing Anna's and start seeing Xantu's. I bet the Xantu's are futher north on the Sea of Cortez side. If anyone is in Bahia de Los Angeles or San Quintin and feels like feeding hummingbirds I would love a photo showing who exactly shows up at your feeder! We know for sure it's mostly Xantu's in Loreto, and mostly Anna's in TJ, but what about in between! |

Re: Hummingbird Feeders Baja
I bet if you stuck a hummingbird feeder anywhere near Bahia de Los Angeles, the mix of birds would look pretty much the same as in Loreto. I bet if you put a feeder out near San Quintin, the mix of birds would look the same as in San Diego more or less. No one I know has ever tried this so I'm just guessing at this point, but I'm curious to know for sure.
