I am sure that many thousands of dollars are lost by Americans trying to build in Baja because they are naive about actual costs. The question was expressly limited to the construction project, not personal income, not personal relationships, nor personal health, nor personal problems, nor personal finances, nor his personal life, as you put it. I think, Expat, it would serve you to be more of a careful reader..

Mine is still the same. You were and are out of line with your questions. Your follow up post chastising for not giving the information you demanded was also out of line.

I have voiced my opinion and stand behind it. There is nothing more to say. I will not respond to any further post you might make on this subject.

Neither the original question nor the follow up post were out of line. You are wrong. Apparently, you refuse to objectively interpret the original question, the followup, and my reply. That is my opinion on your judgement...and I stand behind that.

Tell you what Dennis, your response is truly the most abrasive of all the posts. It was objectively offensive and inflamatory, especially with your decension to the use of abusive slang. How about rising to the occasion and not going there. So far everyone else has agreed to disagree without being nasty and destructive. How about it? Show some genuine control.

Give me some details on the questions that I asked you. The content of my questions to you are specific, extremely pertinent and relevant, to the point, and are of absolute consequence when planning to engage in a project to build in the Baja. The reason that I asked those questions was not out of voyeurism, but out of curiosity of the facts concerning building your own place in northern pacific Baja. I am familiar with building in Baja Sur on the east coast, but not at all familiar with the specifics of building in the more convenient vicinity of San Quintin.

There are two broad ways to do things in life. 1. the formal, impractical and expensive way 2.the "real" way things can get done effectively and economically. The latter approach is the "real" way to do things in Mexico. I need some details.

Ok, getting this thing back on track...

I have contracted some guys now to start bringing in the rock we will be using to cover the outside of the house with. We are using all local rock found down on the beach below us. We will also have some rock work done on the inside of the house but I am still not entirely sure what color we are going to use there.

Will be taking some more photos in a few days and posting them...

What did you decide to use for your plumbing? Copper, PVC, PEX?

The plumbing is PVC, CPVC and with all the exposed fittings in brass. We will use an elevated tank on top of the house for pressure so I don't think we will ever worry too much about leaks from over-pressure...
