Default Semi-Retired Builder seeks live/work Opportunity

I'm a semi-retired builder who wants to relocate to Baja (preferably the San Felipe/Puertocitos area) and is looking for a live/work opportunity.

I'm experienced in all phases of construction and am interested in any related work including property maintenance, security or repairs in exchange for a place to park my trailer plus wages.

Any one have any interest, or suggestions on how to get the word out?

This is probably as good a way as any. Are you willing to work for wages comparable to what the locals are paid? That is what you will likely be offered...

welcome to the forum, mcmanamon!

It seems that foreigners working in MX is a tough gig. Especially in general construction.

Maybe find a niche market? The property management aspect might be something for you to look at as you can do repairs/maintenance as well as office stuff.

Good luck in your search~

Good property managers are in demand everywhere.
You must get the proper permission from immigration.
The property managers I know are charging a fee about 25% lower than what they would get in the US or Canada. They usually work with foreigners.
What you want to do, can be risky. You need to be sure the property "owner" is really the owner and has the right to allow you to use the land.
What about electricity, water and sewer?
And don't forget, you still need to be legal in Mexico, and you must have permission to work.
Do not try to do this under the table, it is not worth the worry, stress, fines, and possible deportation.
