Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported. Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported. Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released. A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released. FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph. Orange County Fire Rescue received the call for aid at 2:28 a.m. Woods was transported from his Windermere-area neighborhood by the hospital's own ambulance. FHP did not report the accident until just after 2 p.m. today. The agency said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending. According to his official website, TigerWoods.com, he is in the middle of a two-week break in tournament play. Woods next tournament is Dec. 3-6 at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif. |

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
It appears that his injuries are not as serious as originally reported.

We should start a "Tabloid Headline" contest for this one.
After all, could there possibly be a richer source of juvenile innuendo than this game?

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
This has to be one time that Tiger must really hate being so well known all over the entire planet. I found out about the story from a friend who knows I golf and sent it via twitter from Tucuman in northwest Argentina...

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
She told police she used a golf club to break the vehicle's rear window in order to get Woods out
Looks like about a 5-iron from here; wouldn't you say? "...Left unanswered was where Woods was going at that hour..." I'd add to that the mystery of how a crash severe enough to jam the doors was incurred in a driveway "traveling under 33 mph." "...responding officers did not hear anything about an alleged argument between Woods and his wife..." Pffffft. |

This version makes a lot more sense to me...
Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV | TMZ.com She was probably chasing him down that driveway with the golf club. I really love Kevin Nealon's take on the whole thing... "Is it fair to speculate that John Daly was driving Tiger Woods last night?" |

Dangerous practise to step out on a wifey who can get a hold of a nine iron.
Figuring out that those extracurricular activities are really not worth it, takes years of experience as some of my friends found out. Maturity helps, however some folks don't reach that till in their 60's. |

Plus the shaft is so short. Now a driver would be a different story. "...according to the...Windermere police department, Tiger's wife, Elin, heard the crash outside their mansion and had the wherewithal to wisely grab a golf club before she ran out the door just in case she happened upon an emergency situation. (In Sweden, golf clubs are the Jaws of Life.)..." Mistress: halfway between a mister and a mattress. |

"..."We simply want to ask why did he crash his car,"..."
I'd say it was definitely a slice that put him off line. "...Authorities have said they don't have details on why Woods was driving away from his home at such an early hour..." "...both rear passenger windows of the SUV...were shattered..." |

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
If you look at the photos of the vehicle Tiger was driving, he wasn't just slowly backing out of the driveway to cause that much damage. Legally speaking,I think he is wise to just shut up and say nothing right now. That would probably only serve to put his wife in jail on a domestic battery charge. The downside is that in the absence of any real explanation from him the press and public are letting rumors run wild in the vacuum left behind.
This really is hurting his image and will certainly affect his endorsement potential I would think. Probably will have to go on a budget now... |

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
"...The lawyer, Bill Sharpe, held a news conference in Orlando to speak on behalf of Linda and Jerome Adams, Woods' neighbors...
...Sharpe said. The injuries were "consistent with a minor accident and inconsistent with him being beat up. That's the question everybody wants to know."..." One further question if I may, Mr. Solicitor: What basis/background did you and/or your clients Linda and Jerome Adams employ to determine the consistency of the appearance of the wounds? Thank you for your frank response. "..."...The scratches on his face were consistent with someone who maybe was in a minor car accident and hit his head on the windshield. ... None of his injuries looked like he was beat up by his wife.... ...Sharpe said the Adams family did not see the crash and did not see Woods wife with a golf club... ...Sharpe said neighbor Linda Adams and her two adult sons went outside their home in the exclusive gated community of Isleworth after hearing the crash...the neighbors found Nordegren kneeling beside her husband, upset about his injuries. Sharpe said Woods appeared woozy and had scratches on his face..." Methinks the lady('s lawyer) doth protest too much. |

Re: Tiger Woods taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after car accident
More and more mistresses keep popping up all over with their stories. It seems like Tiger has a thing for waitresses. His reputation really is going down in flames as each new story hits the news; the latest ones sharing some pretty graphic details.
His dad must be turning over in his grave right about now... |
