Default Hi

My name is Gina and myself, my fiance Alex and my son Max (7) are in Rosarito (San Antonio del Mar area) seeing if this is the place to relocate. I am from California and Alex is from London...this area gives us the beauty of the coast, but is affordable.

Our largest problem so far has been, 1. Work. I got a job in San Diego and do the border commute everyday...but that is getting old really fast, which leads to 2. Our car broke down this week...no car, no work, no money...well we all know where that is gonna lead.

So if anyone knows of someone who would like a commuting partner from the area for awhile let me know or if anyone is selling a car for not too much that I can commute in that would be great!

Hopefully we can make it work here, it's beautiful, the people are fabulous and we are content.

Hi Gina and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you need some help. A couple of suggestions...

1. Repost this with the title of what you need. I will do that much for you.

2. Post an ad on Craigslist - lots of locals check there.

3. Talk to the guards at the south gate at San Antonio del Mar. They know everybody's commuting routines and may be able to find you a daily ride to the border.

Good luck and keep us posted...

Gigi and Co are still here. Living life and loving it. Finally figure our way through the horrid border commute and got a new car. Found some locals whose families have been here forever, that knew the deal and were able to help us out by giving us good pointers.

I was wondering the same thing. I did it for six years and I reached a point where I was constantly thinking of the border wait. Even on Friday afternoons after getting home from my American job with Sparkletts Water I would sit outside barbecuing and thinking of the following Monday's border wait.

Got so bad that whenever I heard on the radio that there was only a few cars per booth at the border, I would jump in my Tahoe and race over to the U.S. just to cross over without a long wait. I would buy some smokes, drive around a bit then go back to TJ. Loco huh?
