Default EL ROSARIO BAJA CALIFORNIA

My Brother Sany’s son, Marcos, sent me these photos from El Rosario today! Don't quote me but I think they were taken on Thursday January 21, 2010. The El Rosario Bridge looked passable on these photos!

Some say this is just one of those freak storms you get every 20 to 30 years. Others say this might be signaling a major step in the climate change.

I think I'll just go fishing today...

Here are some additional pictures I received today from my Brother Sany’s son, Marcos, depicting the crossing of El Rosario River using a caterpillar tractor.

Awesome photos. I just spoke to someone who tells me that people are able to cross many of these affected areas with the help of locals and their tractors...

Thank God there are people with heavy equipment who can help get people across. I hope there is no price gouging for their help! What a mess!

Thank you so much for those, David....

The ones with the water over the hoods...

Ho man. You suck that water into a running engine...BAM!

Hydrolock. They must be getting towed with the engines off.

Marty you are right about that! I'm sure they are turned off. Those semi-tractor trailer guys might not want to attempt a crossing yet because their trailers may tend to start floating down the river. If I get photos showing the semis being pulled across with that caterpillar I will post them of course.

BajaCactus posted this over at the other place!

“Trailers and the bridge...

I received this image from my staff at El Rosario Jan 24, at 2:40pm.

Looks like at this moment almost every vehicle needs some help from tractors... however water levels are dropping slowly but steadily.

Probably just cyclical. We experienced a very similar situation in '93. We were stuck between fallen bridges, camped at an abandoned Pemex in San Quintin, for three weeks waiting for the water do drop enough to cross and get home. That was our first winter trip to Baja. We thought that was normal so we swore never to travel Baja in the winter again. That didn't last long

Great photos Elinves...

BigWooo I was happy to pass them along!

Edit: For my sucky spelling or my lack of slamming the tips of my fingers hard enough on the letters of the keyboard!

I heard that one of the tractors was charging 300 pesos to cross you at Vicente Guerrero. Thank God we didn't need the help. Although Cristina kept giving me that "are you sure???" look...
