These were from Hurricane Henriette in 2007:

Great pics! You captured a lot of different "feelings" in the clouds. It interesting to watch as isolated areas of rainstorms pass.

Now that's a downpour! I wish we got more thunderstorms. There are quite a few across the bay, but they rarely drift over us. That's one thing I like about the tropics; taking walks at night while watching the 360 degree lighting show.

Big Woo, while I like all three, I LOVE the second one with the fence---powerful picture.

Legs---That is one heck of a downpour---great capture.

Here is a cloud from a storm last year that was suppose to reach us, but didn't

But this is what happens to our quite calm bay when a storm surge hits----it is wild.

And just some stormy clouds I liked---John does not like this picture---he says it is just a bunch of clouds, but since when did I listen to him. 8-)

I love these photo threads---love seeing everyone's pix.

Diane

I've never seen photos of the waves at Bahia Asuncion as big as in Diane's #2 shot. What direction is your predominant wind at your casa Diane? If it blows onshore right in front of you, you must get a lot of salt spray.

When there is a storm surge, it is something. We live on the other side of the point---the ocean side. During the windy season, the wind seems to blow from ALL directions---but, yes, we do get the salt---just ask our plants.

But being on the ocean side and the way our beach is there, at really high tide, we have no beach and it can be VERY loud hitting the cliff---I love the sound. It is also a popular beach for the beginning surfers, when there is a surf. It can also be amazingly calm.

It is one of the things we love about Bahia Asuncion--the weather is NEVER consistent and changes often as does the surf.

Hope this was not a hijack---

Diane

Diane,

Your house is in a great location!

I like the last cloud picture too. Great colors.

The "beach" in front of our place isn't very comfortable to walk on.

We have nuclear winds once or twice per month and they always last about 3 days.. All you can do is hunker down til it passes. During a wind episode the sand off the big dunes blows back uphill like a reverse waterfall

OMG! You'll spend more time cleaning sand out of everything than you'll find time to surf! I hope your new construction is well-sealed! You're going to have fun weighing down your materials to hold on to them long enough to use them! ;) Wind is one of the reasons the Pacific side isn't for me, seeing that sand storm just confirmed it for me.
