Just thinking:
If they are truly encouraging non baja photos, that could be a real magnet for frustrated bajanomad photographers. |

Very nice photos very nice.
I saw a listing of Out of Baja photos on the home page. Seems that would be the place for frustrated camera bugs. |

That lichen on the shale is positively day-glow. Looks like something the space visitors left behind.
Very cool pix, amigo. Nena |

Beautiful photos---I especially like the rock, but I like pictues of rocks. I like the texture, shapes and personalities.

You would have done a far better job with your camera, Diane, if you had been there. I'm still using a point and click and the lack of sharpness is obvious. Tripledigitken works with far better equipment.
The lighting was perfect there for that subject. The sun never came out that day. But the fog layer was so thin that the sunlight cast shadows. So you get the texture and 3-dimensionality without the harsh contrast from direct sunlight. That's very rare in baja. There is also a flaw in that image that nobody ever notices. The foreground was too light and flat for some reason and needed boosting. So i highlighted a square area with photoshop just below the kelp and increased the contrast in that section. It brought out the colors and definition but there is a barely perceptible horizontal line across the entire image where the color tones changes abruptly. To me it's so obvious but nobody else sees it. |
