Default Shake and Bake

Just had a shaker in La Paz....very quick, felt like a big sonic boom. On a very warm day.

Learnin' to roll with the punches, my friend...all of 'em. Quick roll call in the hood and everyone seems fine. Dogs and cat up from naps and confused.

Well, keeps this up and we'll be Isla de Baja sooner rather than later..... Guess that will solve the border crossing issues, will have to get the Coast Guard more active...

Sonic boom is a very apt description!!! Dogs freaked because they (we) HEARD & FELT it, barked furiously & then Maggie (soul of a rottweiler!) ran into the safety of her kennel! My conure (bird) started screaming is now being consoled on the top of my head! This after a 4-hour power outage this morning. I'm NOT asking what next!! I'll just consider the broken toe to have been a bonus!!!

Reminds me of Jesse posting over on Nomad a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone checked with the government sites to see if there was an EQ?

According to the govt site, it was a 4.2:
http://www.ssn.unam.mx/
Very brief, but strong enough that I saw my desk shake.
Weather Underground shows today's high temp as 103/39.

What???? You're questioning the veracity of those who live here & reported it was an earthquake, both here & on BN, well before the USGS even updated their site??
