Oh I am so very sure they will find many sympathetic ears right now. Bringing truckloads of money will help of course...

If they do it as they are supposed to ..... the risk is manageable...

However, the history of enforcement and effective enforcement actions would not be something one would want to hang their hat on...

Coupled with the documented historical scandals within the Department of Interior are the things we have read in our history books and watched on Television..... one would be hard pressed to find an individual to manage the resources of our nation and is found within the rarified air of National Politics ....

Default they see a glow on the southern horizon, like a setting sun

"Is that it?" Peterson hears them mutter. "Holy shit, I think that's it."

The Deepwater Horizon is 145 miles away.

Knowing where the "sentiments" are, these companies would not pour salt on a wound and go to court capriciously. If the decision to halt is upheld it, like it or not, it has big financial ramifications for them and the nation.
My curiosity is the basis for the challenge....and the first questioning I red in media is whether or not the executive branch, once permission to drill has been granted, has the power to halt the drilling if there has been no infraction on the part of the driller. If that's the issue....it's a big issue.

I agree Dusty but as you well know, timing is everything.

Unless of course you go back to my prior point of bringing truckloads of money. In that case anything is possible...

Post Judge rules against Obama's drilling moratorium (Reuters)

Reuters - A judge on Tuesday ruled against the Obama administration's six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling in the wake of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a blow to the White House which had hoped the ban would provide time to ensure other wells are operating safely.

That depends. Anybody hear reports of large trucks sneaking down any of Washington's back alleys dropping hundred dollar bills in its path???

Immediate reaction by government is to appeal. Read some quotes from the judge's decision and it didn't sound like the WH passed muster on any of its 3 major points...even failed to make the public safety portion of their argument strong enough.

Maybe someone threw some sand on the slippery slope after all.
