Default Reports of rain in La Paz "burbs"....

on that other website were highly exaggerated & must have been submitted by a former Californian, because to a former Oregonian....the following would not even be categorized as a "light sprinkle"! Those durn Californians don't know the real definition of RAIN!! If not for my dusty Rodeo, I'd never have even known there was any precipitation whatsoever! I'm pretty sure that San Francisco gets wetter FOG than this!

Your right...(feel better?) San Fran does get wetter fog. Oregon and Washington drizzle, unendingly. Go east, young lady, the midwest and east get downpours with thunder that shakes the house at 5.0 on the Richter. That is RAIN. This was between a spritz and a sprinkle; audible, left the deck wet and the flower beds still damp. Perhaps I am guilty of irrational exuberance. Mea Culpa.

Sometimes you just got to celebrate any relief that can be found in the mid summer heat...

Relief??!!!!
The wind drops to calm, the sprinkles land on the hot concrete and steam up, and the overall result is MUGGY!! Not to mention that the ants start coming out. Gimme hot sun and a brisk wind anytime.
Fortunately, downtown La Paz is back to normal after our few drops this morning. Sun is out and a little breeze is stirring.

Just checked the temperature inside the house - 69 degrees. It's going to be a real scorcher today...

When I was in San Quintin 3 weeks ago, my brother-in-law refused to get on the panga because of the "rain". He is from Santa Fe Springs and thinks brisa is rain.

After sleeping through yesterday's purported light show & rain, I awoke at 4:15 AM this morning sweating like the guest of honor at a pig roast....yes, I know, ladies are supposed to glisten....I had glisten pouring off of me! I crawled to the kitchen to put the coffee on & heard this pathetic little voice calling from the garage....I keep telling Bing he's going to spend the night in the garage when he darts out there as I'm coming back inside....last night my threat became reality! I completely forgot he was out there!

The thermometer on the bay side patio registered....a definite 80F! And the sky hadn't even started to lighten! I decided to stay up for a while to see what the beginning of the day brought....Bing, despite the fact he was still seeing red from his night in the garage, called me out to share the dawning of the day. Alas, no light show, no precipitation, but can you hear the early morning quiet in these pics?

Naw....that's pretty much his normal face....except for the color change of his pretty blue eyes. He never has had a "sweet" face! He's too macho for that sweet crap! I just looked outside to see him galloping around leaping & tossing something in the air....the lizard was playing possum....I poked it a couple times & it didn't even blink....until I tried to pick it up! It's now been relocated to an area Bing never goes. It's MUCH easier to teach dogs to leave scorpions & lizards alone than it is cats! Second pic is his "Well, Mother Nature told me to GET IT so why are you yelling at me?" look.

Hmmmmm, not too likely that I take the questioning of my precipitation veracity seriously when the source is a semi ambulatory animal abuser with short term memory loss and hot flashes.

Your serve, sweetie

OUCH!!!! Ya got me....all but that "hot flashes" crap! By my reckoning he was out in the garage 7 hours....is that short-term memory....or bad hearing? He obviously didn't kick up too much of a fuss, or Maggie & Jenny woulda told me to let him in!

88/31 in the shade on my back patio at 10 a.m. My furbaby and I went for a Malecon walk. There was a teensy SW breeze at the shoreline, but it was STEAMY ... we came back panting and sweating and thinking that this afternoon's exercise should be a little different.

My furbaby is too furry....she'd clog the pool filter, so she has to come up with her own methods to cool off....she sleeps this way all the time, on hard & soft surfaces!
