If you were the crew on this ship, and it was sinking....would you trust this thing wouldn't go straight to the bottom?

Based on the slight list & the lines coming off both sides....I'd say it's ON the bottom!
If I were part of the crew, what I wouldn't do is jump overboard based on it's current location!

You're right. I didn't catch that. Got to be good for those big props!
In the middle of the ocean though, even if the ship was sinking, I don't think I could talk myself into getting into that thing. Edit: By "thing", I mean that little red lifeboat. I have actually been in one of those "things". Most of the offshore platforms have them (or a facsimile thereof). I was lifted off a platform on one by crane and did a couple of laps around Platform Heritage off Santa Barbara fifteen or so years ago.
They are very buoyant believe it or not and that is not a slide but a hydraulic lift down to the water...
