I love it when the bad guys get caught. Be interesting to see if he does any jail time. Oftentimes they'll just get whats called an "amparo" and they go free.

One good thing though is that police are now comparing databases of information on a national level to keep better track of these guys. They used to just resurface months later working as a cop somewhere else. That is happening less and less.

We have been quite fortunate down here in San Quintin (knock on wood) we haven't had a single problem with any of the local, state or federal law enforcement. In fact our experience here has been just the opposite of when we lived up near the border. Our only contact with the guys in uniform is usually when they stop by for a cold soda while out here patrolling on the beach.

A couple of them have been so nice as to give us their personal cell numbers to call in case anybody is out here causing problems. Haven't had to use the favor so far - our private "security crew" does a pretty good job taking care of that...
