Hola, I'm known as "oladulce" . My husband and I have been visiting Baja for surfing and camping for 20 years (Sur mostly). We have owned a few properties during that time, buying and selling with each new purchase moving up a notch, a little closer to the water! Our current, and final, Baja Sur property will be the location of our full time residence when we retire in a few months.

We've completed some construction, and will be embarking on phase 2 of the project soon - building our main house. Our property is about a mile outside of a small pueblo on the Pacific side of BCS. We are 100% solar powered and our water is delivered by truck from a rancho located up one of the arroyos.

Off the grid, rural living is new to us and we research and try to learn as much as we can as we go. Combine that with the fact that this new lifestyle will take place in the informational black hole of Mexico, and i say "thank goodness for online Mexico forums" !

I've learned of some invaluable resources for home building items both in Mexico and NoB, and have received some excellent recommendations for attorneys, Notarios, and other professionals on the "Board". We've made online friends with folks living in Baja that we wouldn't have crossed paths with otherwise and hope to meet them in person once we retire.

This could be known as the "friendlier" Baja forum and I hope folks contribute!

Hi everybody! My name is Mike and ofcourse I love Baja like you do. I finally bought some property a few years ago. If everything goes right I will build a nice little house there and retire there.
Retirement is a few years off so in the meantime I love to take trips when I can and my most favorite thing in the whole world is... fishing!!! 8-)
I have a second most favorite thing but I get everybody mad when I talk about it so we'll leave that for another time ;)
