Default Ensenada Army Captain Kidnapped, Killed and Delivered.

Does this mean things are going to worse, grizzlier and sooner than later ;) ? Calderon was in Rosarito this week visiting the power plant. It was the first time I had seen a McHale's Navy type boat, or any Navy boat for that matter- cruising Rosarito beach. Can't say it looked threatening. Truckloads of Military at many locations to guard him. No wonder. This Captain was kidnapped and still missing when Calderon came to town. That ended Saturday. Body parts of another guy, neatly packed- were in TJ. Seems this was all going the other way after Teo left town, but now his back-up is here.

Ejecutan y a capitán del Ejército | AFN

ENSENADA, BC 9 OCTOBER 2010 (AFN) .- Two executions were recorded during the last hours in Baja California, among them that of a man who initially was identified as First Captain of the Mexican Army, while the other person, has not yet information about their identity. In the two executions, the victims appeared "encobijadas" but the person who was murdered in Tijuana, was also beheaded and his hands and feet tied.

As regards the first case, unofficially it is said Captain Jose Manuel Hernandez Cossio, who was kidnapped in the port of Ensenada, four days before his appearance, lifeless.
It was discovered in a late-model Cherokee, which was abandoned near the funeral Moreno Reform Street, next to the clinic 8 Social Security. No official information has been provided thereon. The army maintains a permanent struggle against organized crime in Baja California.

As regards the second case, it was reported that on Friday night were found the remains of a man beheaded, whose body was inside a blanket and head, a few feet away, inside a box. The discovery was made around eleven o'clock at night near a stream and in front of a home in the streets of the colony Jalisco Alfonso Garzon in Otay Mesa. It was reported that the corpse had feet and hands bound with electrical cord and corresponded to that of a person between 40 and 45 years old, of slim build and height 1.64 meters. He was dressed in black shorts and a shirt the same color. In addition to grab marks on wrists and ankles, had a groove in the front of the neck and multiple injuries to his head and face.

The anticipation is palpable; among some. Ask yourself a simple question: is it genuine altruism; hoping for a better tomorrow by informing/leveraging the rage of the citizenry against corruption?

I guess wanting to help out is more common that I thought.

For the Ensenada event, I believe this was a directed targeted attack, possibly payback or revenge. will be interesting to see what or how this plays out.

The bodyguards don;t do any good- just more dead bodies. If they want you, they will get you. We've heard the Sonora cartel has taken over Ensenada- with the poppy filed and pot plantations. They left him at the funeral home in one piece- so it either wasn't the Sonora cartel, they didn't have anything personal against him or he sung like a canary the days they had him captive and they killed him mercifully.

I believe this is the cartel "allegedly" aligned and favored by the government. The leader is on the Forbes richest list. Not just in Ensenada. Families of sonoran Mexpranos have been moving into Rosarito. I know of four recent imports in my area. Nice houses, nice cars (repainted in their garage weekly), nice clothes, nice wives and bright kids. A step up actually.

Baja is going through a major political shift right now so it will be interesting to see how that affects your new neighbors...

If the government is truly on their side it will be interesting in a very bad way. PRI vs PAN plus Narcos = ???

I guess I was wrong about the dead Army Captain. MM is reporting his head was next to him in the car parked at the funeral home- not attached. El Mexicano is reporting he was strangled with a belt and was badly decomposed. Could be either one- but it wasn't a pleasant death to be sure. So it looks like the work of the Sinaloas, which makes sense given their dominance in Ensenada now. The hanging bodies over the toll road in Rosarito is new too- if that's indeed where they were.

Yea, I heard the hanging bodies were over the bridge on the free road coming down from the large Santa Fe development...

yup, thought so. It's gonna be a bumpy ride. The last crime wave will be nothing compared to this. The NOB media isn't reporting much, if any of it. They don't want to pee on Tijuana's Innovadors showcase or the cat ate Dibble's tongue.

Woooosh... your linkage of "crime" to "political parties" is something which most have not gotten too close to in most reporting... and would be something one should approach with a clear understanding of "how it works"...

NOB, one finds much of the same... think not... recall the use of the Mafia by the Kennedy's, and by LE, for "special favors"... on individuals.. who presented some degree of risk, in any form...

When the "financial numbers" reach those which are associated with "illegal drugs being sold in the United States"... well, sh*t seems to happen rather quickly .... to those who "make waves"... north, south, east or west of the border ... and not even talking about "human trafficking"

Keep YOUR head down.. and watch your, and your families, back...

Some would argue that politics is a "legal" form of organized crime - they do seem to go hand in hand often. I am waiting for the balance of power to shift here in Baja now that PRI will be the party really in control to see what happens...

The cartels are the "Lobbyists" of Mexico, it's really that simple and it is talked about openly all the time. Mexicans aren't blind to corruption- they embrace it and find a way to make it work for them. The only one with any money besides the billionaire narco Guzman is Carlos Slim. PeMex is gov't owned- so they don't contribute to candidates. No one else does really- just those who need the governments support.

Looks like someone overheard a narco boss and lawmaker showing support for each other. No surprise.
