On the thread about the kidnapped and killed Army Captain in Ensenada, I talked about escalating violence as the Sinaloa cartel moves into Rosarito and makes its strength and presence known. They are the brutal ones who gave us el Teo and the Pozolero (the stew maker). It's gonna get really really bad, really fast. I had thrown the question out there- and the answer came back last night. 6 dead yesterday alone and two headless bodies hanging from the "Pemex" bridge (I think it's on the TJ/Rosarito free road called the five and dime).

Even still- this is narco against narco for now. No tourists or expats threatened for now until one cartel wins... then they will start picking us off for $10K a pop, like they are doing to the local shop keepers and taco cart vendors. If Calderon doesn't get a handle on this soon- TJ could become the next Juarez. It is alleged the Sonora cartel and Calderons team are united- which makes it a total friggin' mess.

TIJUANA BC October 11, 2010 (AFN) .- During the course of the night Sunday and early Monday, killing six people executed in Tijuana, two of which also were hung from a bridge, having been beheaded, according to officials confirmed. This new wave of horror was recorded after several criminal acts that have occurred increasingly in the city and after several weeks of apparent control of so-called organized crime. The most recent occurred about two hours Monday at the bridge called "Pemex" located in the Rosarito-Tijuana highway, where two men were hanged, headless and practically half naked. One body was tied hand and had an approximate age between 22 and 25 years, while the other man was hung upside down. The heads of the two victims were found on the hood of a pickup truck, abandoned at the foot of the bridge above. To recover the bodies hanging from the structure was requested fire support elements.

Moreover, in an incident in the colony Infonavit Latinos, individuals have not officially identified, opened fire on several people who were enjoying a barbecue at a home, killing four.
