Only one of the three articles even vaguely touches on the issue of the source of this massive amount of pot. It refers to the cartels increasingly eschewing foreign supplies. Thus, the implication of this stuff being homegrown. However, whether the Mexican authorities are purposely being coy about the source, one big question come to mind. Given all the security checkpoints along the Mexican highways, how does truckload after truckload of this stuff arrive in TJ undetected?

The police got into a shootout with a Winnebago-type vehicle who led them back to the stash. That idiot of a driver is dead no matter which door he leaves from. It was a nice fire yesterday and from all the smoke I thought a whole TJ neighborhood was on fire.

When are they going to find the tunnel it was headed for? You don't walk or drive that much across and the narcos must have been very confident a shipment that large in one place would be safe. Anyone have a tunnel count? I must have heard of a half dozen sophisticated ones (lighting, air, carts on tracks) in the past few years.

We have a couple of nephews in my wife's family up in Tijuana who run with a "questionable" crowd these days. They tell me that this much would be broken down into smaller, more manageable sized shipments. They have also been telling me for awhile that more and more of this stuff is crossing the border in the desert area east of Tecate with the help of paid off border patrol agents.

Who knows what is really happening???

They dont need a tunnel when pepole on both sides of the Border are FOR SALE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER they can take it across the same way it got to Tj.
