I have a Mexican attorney friend in Monterrey (who also has a U.S. law degree). He was one of several attorneys chosen to help convert the criminal courts in Nuevo Leon. He worked for several years with the District Attorney in Los Angeles learning the U.S. court system. Now he teaches judges and attorneys in Nuevo Leon to prepare them for (what he hopes will be) a transformation of the entire criminal court system.

He's a sharp guy...I can't imagine having attended law school, and being licensed to practice in two countries

I agree, that is quite an accomplishment. My son went to law school in Buenos Aires and we have talked about him coming up this way eventually. When I mention the idea of going back to law school again I just get this blank stare...
