Bahia San Luis Gonzaga Road Paving???
Does any one how far they have gotten on the new paving of the road from Puertecitos to Gonzaga Bay.
How close is the pavement to Gonzaga Bay? I keep hearing conflicting reports! Thanks, Siesta Lover |

Re: Bahia San Luis Gonzaga Road Paving???
When we came through the black top just came to an abrupt end with a traffic marker in the middle of the road with a barrel on each side and you were back on the old road.
We did not travel on any parallel roads. Warren |

Re: Bahia San Luis Gonzaga Road Paving???
Specifics are hard to find... I wish I could go more often, as I like to record the mileages of new changes, etc.
On Baja Nomad are these four posts: posted on 12-30-2010 at 07:44 PM Highway 5 Just drove in and the paved road is open 6.2 miles past Campo Tano where it used to end then graded or something because it is much better than it was after the race, but not a worker or equipment in sight. Left Pemex in San Felipe at 10:05 and walked into the house in Punta Final at 1:05 after airing down, talking with military kids at the checkpoint and stopping in at Rancho Grande for refreshments. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- posted on 1-2-2011 at 04:39 PM Just got back from our home below San Felipe and did the drive south while we were there on the newest stretch of road which ends a 1/2 mile north of Okie Landing. Beyond that, the road has very many exposed rocks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- posted on 3-11-2011 at 08:10 AM Gonzaga road work starting up.....slowly I jus drove back to SD Thursday, only about 17 miles of "rough road" from Gonzaga, rest of it has been "graded" to the pavement. Workers were there, starting to work some rebar,a few of the concrete drainage channels layin around. Except for the grader working the road,,,no other "heavy equipment" was around though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- posted on 4-14-2011 at 08:04 AM Road Work to Gonzaga continues This from a resident in San Felipe this morning: Well after all our speculation about the ongoing highway construction for the new paved road south, I'll throw another log on the fire. A convoy of five low boy's loaded with big ripper Cat's and other heavy construction equipment just passed my casa heading south. FWIW ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
