My husband, mother and 3 cats and I are planning to move to Baja, as soon as I unload, ahem, I mean sell the house here in NC. I lived in Los Angeles during my "Step aside, Parents, I´m 21 and the UHaul is loaded going California!" phase, and fell in love with the west coast.

Flash forward (sorry, I'm watching Doctor Who-lol) 20 some odd years to having visited California and Oregon several times over years and on second marriage to a man from Durango, Mexico. Miguel is there now and has been there for a little over a year as his Visa expired. His Dad's health hadn't been that good, so it was just as well that he go back. We thank the God's that Dad is doing 100% better. Meanwhile Miguel is about two months away from his automechanics certificate. He shadetree'd alot here, but when the school presented itself just 15 mins away from his parents home, he couldn't resist for the job opps.

I had begun to look at the opportunities for a lifestyle change myself, and have been saturated with information on Expats in Mexico and then I surfed Baja and was sold. Mom and I currently live in NC originally from NJ (thats another story for another post).
NC has none of what Baja or Mexico has to offer for the Social Security Bene's Set, talking about my mom, here.

Miguel has also been hearing good things about Baja as well and suggested I research it. Of course, what he doesn't remember is that I had mentioned Baja to him when he went back to Mexico as I wasn't really keen on living in the middle of the country where he is now. I let him think it was HIS idea.-LOL

I have been living in Baja in my head for some time-lol. I have been purging, packing and prayed for a buyer for my mom's home and property. I think I have a buyer, keeping my fingers crossed that it goes through so I don't miss another Christmas without my Miguel. I also got my TEFL certification three weeks ago.

That's me. I hope I didn't hit the troll meter.

This will be fun.. glad your posting ... there is a LOT of information from the folks here that live up and down the Baja .... and those who just come on down a lot...
