Default Potential relative

This is not stalking. My folks told me recently that I might have a relative named Michael Bekemeier living on a ranch about 15 miles north/east of Ensenada.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
That'd be a hell of a thing.

Do some map work, then come on down and ask the locals......

Also do some research on Google.

I will slowly pursue this.
Seems he has been having a lot of dialog with some of my relatives but when I finally contacted him not much has been forthcoming.
I have MOUNTAINS of patience and have sometimes waited for years for results(or whatever you want to call it).

When my dads family came over from the old country there were stories of an uncle that continued his journey down south of the border where he had accepted a contract to lend his beermeister skills to a new brewery built in Chihuahua. The story goes that he never came back and the family assumed that he married and stayed.

I have found traces of the family name in Chihuahua and just have to believe that we are related. One of these days I am going to make a trip to find out...

BajaGringo, how long were you in Argentina? What were you doing? Did you make it to Chile?

I spent a total of about 8 years or so in Argentina and traveled to Chile many times from where I lived on the eastern slopes of the Andes as a teenager back in the early 70's and later working there in the 80's.

Where did you live, in Mendoza? I was born in Vina del mar and lived in santiago until my parents decide to leave due to a socialist president named Allende, then to mexico for High school and then to San Fco bay area. I am very interested in going back to mexico because I know my retirement will go further and I will not be able to afford property near the ocean in the US west coast. Viva Mexico!

No, I was further north in Tucuman. I remember very well the day that the coup took place in Chile. In fact I listened to the blow-by-blow account of the fight between the army and forces loyal to Allende in Santiago that morning of the "other" September 11th, in 1973.

I have been to Viña del Mar several times. Back then I remember a really cool night club done in an Egyptian theme, although the name now escapes my memory - might have been the name of one of the pyramids I think...

Hi SoulPatch,

I fit your description! My name is Michael Bekemeier and I live 15 miles NE of Ensenada. I was born in Hamilton, Ohio. When I joined the navy, they sent me to San Diego. In 2008 I relocated to this ranch. Who are you and how are we related?

Mike
