Default Ha ha! I am spending the night at Su Kasa!

We are in Loreto and just paid gringo prices for a great meal and we are very happy!
La Paz tomorrow, a day early!
Bola was windy and dirty and we had a gun pulled on us by a, maybe, military guy about two klicks south of a a canyon with water where there is a major pot growing enterprise.
Well, we are still alive, but beware just north of La Gringa in the coves up there.
Yeehee! Baja Sur!

I thought there would be a lot of people this time of the season at La Gringa. No???

Glad to hear you are all OK and look forward to hearing your trip reports...

Good grief!!!! Stop looking for trouble!! Get down here where things are calmer & safer! I'm glad you made it through unscathed!

Also, been windy here, but the sun is still shining! Can you get into the condo early?

The condo owner has graciously accepted my offer of more money for us to arrive today!
Man, it is beautiful this morning in Loreto......I am anticipating the unknown that awaits me in La Paz!
Hasta proximo!

Hmmmmmmmmm....in a highly unusual set of circumstances; I'm rarely out & about in town at night; I traveled the length of the malecon last night! I didn't notice a red-headed family out there....but I kinda doubt you had your little ones out there 11 PMish.

For the phone charger, try Radio Shack....16th of September to the first left turn street. Radio Shack is in the middle of the block on your right. If you see Photos by Miguel, Radio Shack is just to the left.

Have a blast & don't forget to slather on the sunscreen!

Yipee soulpatch family! If you haven't come across a detailed map of La Paz streets, check out the link I posted in the Map category. I find it very helpful.

Have fun!

(Como se dice "have fun" in español? Diviértanse?)

Ha! No, we were in bed at 11.....although it sounded quite fun out there from our location at the very (west?) end. We were in major burn out mode last night, especially after gorging ourselves on shrimp ceviche and cocktails at Bismarck opposite the malecon..
I will check out the map! Thanks.
Nice to start relaxing.......

The main Hermanos Gonzales stand is on Degollado near Madero, not far from the public market. They used to have a sit-down "annex" closer to the Malecon on the same street, but I think it closed. I haven't been there in ages, because I found a taco stand I like better closer to my house, but as I recall the hours are pretty unpredictable. Late mornings are probably your best bet. Good luck finding a place to sit!

Well, if you found a place you like better???
Actually, we cook a lot so the taco trips are spur of the moment. It feels like it is taking us quite awhile to settle in...I think we are fatigued, oddly enough.

The place I like better is El Estadio, off 5 de Mayo at the corner of Guillermo Prieto and Independencia. You have a car, right? Head north on the Malecon toward El Moro, Pichilinque, etc. 5 de Mayo is the four way stop just after the bus terminal downtown. Drive up the hill, and a couple of blocks past the cathedral look for a Comex store on your right. That's Gmo. Prieto, and the stand is one short block to the right, but it's a one-way street, so you'll have to go to the next right and drive around the block. It's open from about 9:30 or 10 am until they run out of food, usually between 12 and 1 pm. I don't think they're open in the evening. Buen' provecho!

Ahh, thank you. Too late for today I would say.
Heading out to Tecalote pronto. We are always up for an evening stroll on the malecon afterwards.

I need to start a new thread.
Apparently our little camera doesn't interface with my windows 7 somehow. I thought I lost all my pics. Yikes! They were all there on the camera, though.....whew!
I guess I will have to wait until I get home with those to find a cable that works.
Damn.
Well, we'll take out the Nikon D40 today and start shooting. Sheesh, we really wanted to send out some stuff!
