Soulpatch sighting
I was greeted at my front gate this afternoon by two delightful little red-headed people complete with snorkel gear & fins who shook my hand & promptly asked if I had a pool! They were accompanied by a large chocolate lab & their parents! Maggie was pretty vocal (obnoxious!) about that big gringo dog that got free run of HER property while she & Jenny were confined in their dog run....suffice it to say she was not a gracious hostess! We migrated to the pool & a pleasant time was had by all. The short-stature-flippered-people jumped right in & had a ball! Great visit, very nice family, terrific future assets for La Paz!
Alas, we were so busy enjoying good company & conversation, I have no photo proof this visit actually occurred! All 5 are welcome back anytime! |

Re: Soulpatch sighting
Yes, I would say we met an icon today! Well, alright, just a very genuine and nice person....we really enjoyed our brief visit....to say that our time horizon here until we come back isn't on our minds would be lying. Soy muy tranquilo aqui.... Anyway,I feel quite blessed to be here....which is a very unusual thing for me to say.
I can't tell you how many conversations I have had with locals that were just a pleasure, even though they were probably a headache for them with my lack of skills but they have been completely gracious. There is a frontier spirit here among many of the immigrants from up north that I admire and think my family and I possess. I am certain this time will fly and I only feel regret for those that I want to meet and will not get the chance this trip due to the simple fact that we all must sleep at some point during this 24 hour period called a day. I think we should have let your dogs out, though, so they could teach Seamus a thing or two about possession! He is GIANT puppy.

Re: Soulpatch sighting
Oh! Maggie & Jenny don't get free run of the entire yard because they can get out through the gate bars, despite the fact I had them spaced @ 5" in this place rather than the 6" spacing at previous places. Maggie would be in Guadalajara before dinner time! Plus, Maggie failed obedience training & gets obnoxiously excited over human & canine guests. She'd probably have bowled the little people over! Dusty & Kate can concur!

Re: Soulpatch sighting
I'm the last person to be critical of Maggie's behavior. (Seamus could have been dropped over here at doggiegarten).

Re: Soulpatch sighting
I hope they're in La Paz a bit longer. There's a high probability we may drive down this afternoon for a few days.

Re: Soulpatch sighting
Maybe you can get some photos BigWooo. Either Patch forgot his camera or he is purposely ignoring us...

Re: Soulpatch sighting
We are heading to Bahia Terranova somewhere north of San Jose del Cabo today and will return tomorrow evening.
Going to visit with some old neighbors who have kids that our kids love to play with. It's all in the timing but give us a shout. My wife is the picture poster.....I will try at some point to get some up.

Re: Soulpatch sighting
Apologies to anyone counting on us to be anywhere.......
We are in East Cape and I have been crushing overhead warm water surf! Oh, yeah! We have been offered a guesthouse here for the next 4-5 days and are taking advantage of it.......we are also getting a good look at San Jose del Cabo, which my wife is really liking. Me, too, actually! This was all through a confluence of small events that led to meeting someone who introduced us to somebody else who talked to somebody in the line-up this morning who had an empty guesthouse where I am typing this on their iPad overlooking the edge of the world.........this might be our spot.
