Ron, I was wondering if this board could be slightly modified, specifically to show on the opening page recent or last seven days' posts, rather than just today's posts. At my advanced age, I forget where I was yesterday, and having a handy listing of recent posts would help me rejoin the threads I was interested in.

Secondly, is there some way to "corral" noticias into a single thread or directory, rather than allowing her to splatter posts all over the opening page (she seems to have more to say than the collective membership does at one time)?

Obviously, no biggies here, but it would enhance my enjoyment of this outstanding board. Keep up the great work!

I noticed that too. By "opening page" you mean "Today's Posts", correct? I don't think "Default Thread Age Cut Off" in the "Thread Display Options" of your UserCP has anything to do with that.

Right now Today's Posts has 11 entries on one page. Somewhere, somehow there must be a way to set it for longer than one day. In other words, display several days' worth of posts on several pages; going backwards chronologically, and call it "Recent Posts."

As far as having Noticias included in that...hmmm. Right now it is kind of an overpowering flood. Maybe as more people join and post it'll become a more reasonable percentage on it's own. Or maybe it could use a tweak until then.

I'm thinking that Noticias would be better in a separate section (like Community, Calendar, etc.), not showing in Today's Posts with the actual discussion threads. Also, I realize that the news posts are autogenerated, but is there any way to avoid the following?

I open "Mexico-Influenza Prevention and Control Project", expecting a news story or summary, and get a post with only a "More..." link. I click on that and am taken to a World Bank page where my options are another "Show More" link or a download of a complete report. "Show More" gives a bunch of data about the data but no real info. So after three clicks I discover that my only option to get any of the "story" is to download the whole 10-page report.

This does NOT encourage me to open other Noticias threads

I concur! (if anyone CARES!) If this is a democracy & we get a vote, I'd rather see the Noticas in a separate area as well. Right now, they've totally taken over the posts....IMO

And I wanna know how Kate know they're auto-generated??

Sorry guys for being out of the loop but four very close friends were involved in an accident that killed two and left two in intensive care. I am leaving again tonight for the funeral.

I agree that the Noticias robot needs tweaking and I will work on that when I return...
