I am relatively new to the Baja community.
Me, in bullet points: 44 Got divorced last year after 20 years of marriage. Have three wonderful sons, 21 (just finished paramedics training), 19 (freshman at Cal Berkeley), 16 (life's ambition--to become the next Eminem; he keeps me entertained constantly) Ex wife got the L.A. abode and so I had to move South of the Border to be able to afford a place to live--I live in Las Playas de Tijuana. I own a high rise window cleaning company which serves the greater Los Angeles and San Diego communities, mostly hotels. The great recession and the great alimony monster took a great chunk of my business. So I am adjusting to living life with less, but I am an optimist (An optimist fell off a 20 story building. You know what he said at the tenth floor? So far, so good.) Well, so far, so good. I am also a member of the Screen Actors Guild but haven't done any films in two years. Still got residuals coming in (thank God for Bulgarian tv junkies). Also a screenwriter and playwright. Acting has taken me around the U.S. and abroad--so, I'm kind of digging being in the same spot for a while. I have a Mexican girlfriend, which has proven quite interesting (think Lucy and Ricky) to say the least. Interested in conversing and potentially hanging with some fellow ex-pats. Thanks for the opportunity to join ![]() I like Scotch and a good cigar and long walks on the beach...ah, just give me the Scotch and cigar and a long seat on the beach. I still have road scars and saddle sores. The only time I run now is when I'm chasing my Schnauzer around (which is more often than I would like ![]() So where does everyone hang out? Count me in. Thanks for reading my scratch. |

Welcome to TalkBaja, Jake. Good to see you here.
May I suggest......there's a theatre group in Rosarito that may interest you, not only for the acting opportunity, but for the good contacts as well. A bunch of nice folks. Don't know exactly how you make contact, but a lot of the expats there are involved with the Red Cross. That should be somewhat easy to locate. |

Hi,
I know it is a little further south but what about the Fox studios in Ensenada? Too bad you were not way further south, I might have shared a Scotch and swapped Divorce stories. NO cigar though I would be afraid of falling back into the bad smoking habit that I gave up 7 years ago. (I admit I do think about it though, the occasional smell of those Cuban Cohiba's touch off the sensory nerves occasionally) ![]() |

Fox Studios is a lot closer to Rosarito than Ensenada. Good idea, tho. |
