AWESOME Cinnamon Rolls in Popotla
Wow! There is a new baker in town. There's a new cafe with fresh cookies, cupcakes and really good cinnamon rolls just south of Rosarito.
Drive a little south of Rosarito along the free road, check out "Las Sirenas" at milepost 34.5, just north of Calafia. It's on the west side of the free road, along the little frontage road with the beach parking. It's tiny and they're just getting going, but let me tell you - the cinnamon rolls for $10 pesos each are definitely worth stopping for. I think they're also doing hamburgers, hot dogs, etc for the beach crowd. |

Re: AWESOME Cinnamon Rolls in Popotla
Oh darn, I went into Rosarito today and tried to stop and pick up cinnamon rolls for my afternoon snack. I kept hovering around km 37.5, and couldn't find the place. Now I know why. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I have better luck. I did find a nice little out of the way place called Charlies. I picked up a bluberry muffin. Not bad.I'll let you know tomorrow on the cinnamon rolls at km 34.5. FYI the old road is being paved in this area so be carefull all.

Yeah, you have to keep your eye out to find the place. There is a surf shop next to it and there is usually a big sign nearby for playas parking.
Ron, yes, they are the big "Cinnabon" type cinnamon rolls. It's our Friday treat, so we'll be going down soon. :-) |

Re: AWESOME Cinnamon Rolls in Popotla
Crap, I went twice to KM34.5 and there was a tiny place that was closed. It looks like those cinnamon rolls are going to have to wait. I had to come to the US today for the grandchildren. Harmonie has doctors appt and Nana is the only one who can take her. I think I'll be home sometime in mid to late June.

Re: AWESOME Cinnamon Rolls in Popotla
It sounds like it's close to the military checkpoint. You know about police and baked goods?
How close would you say it is to Calafia? 1 kilometer? |

Re: AWESOME Cinnamon Rolls in Popotla
BajaGoodLife gave us the directions. Sounds like I went to the wrong place as I drove South of Calafia not North like the directions state. I should have printed these directions out. I'm in the U.S. right now and won't be back until the grandchildrens school ends. I'll have to check it out then. BohemiaBeerBash I would say I'm directionaly changled south of the border, and not qualified to give direction until I actually have a lusious cinnamon roll in my mouth.
