Default Our newest additions...

We have a big piece of property here with lots of love to share. With that sentiment we now introduce the newest members of our family:

Las Gatitas - "Manitas", "Pili" and "Mina". Three sisters who were dropped off at our local vet to be given away and we took all three. Will make great outdoor cats and already get along extremely well with the dogs who are showing a lot of patience and care for their new sisters.

The Dobies - "Diva" and "Choro". We bought this pair from a well known breeder in California. Their photos were taken before they were a month old and we will be bringing them home on the 22nd, when they turn 8 weeks,

Good for you!! I'll be there around the 23-24th to bond with the pups before they get big enough to take a leg off!

Fantastic, Puppies Rule we have a German Sheapard that we got when she was 3mos and now at 11 mos and 70lbs she is fantastic. We will be in the San Quinten area in about a week for a few days you may see her on the beach.

Great looking team there BG!

Also good to see that LongLegz is planning on a program of habituating the new animals to her presence. I think that she may visit the cool west coast more often once the prospect of being consumed has been removed.

Good thinking. Our neighbor and his then 5 yo daughter raised a bunch of pheasants to release (so he could hunt them, but still......). When they were ready to be released they made a big deal out of it, with all the kids releasing their favorite, pet birds personally.

When his daughter released her bird, it flew about 20 feet, and then, blam! A Bald Eagle snagged it on the fly, and off it went.

There was some hysterics, but he was able to turn it into a lesson about how nature works.
Not something to go through with a kitten!

Sounds like a great plan BG!

(ok, who else is wondering how long it will take before they wake up with stiff necks and sore backs from trying to sleep while sharing a pillow with one cat, a gato between their legs, and one curled up behind the knees, with both pups hogging the covers between them?)

Outdoor kitties? Hmmm, we'll see...

OK, so we finally got Choro and Diva home. They seem to get along well with the entire zoo here and at just 8 weeks of age are eating us out of house and home. But they are soooo much fun...

Ah yes! Seaweed horderves don't come up high on the USDA's list of highly recommended puppy chow extenders, but it does come up higher than ankle, shin & thigh bones!

Hard to believe how time flies! The puppies just turned six months old so we decided it was the perfect time to take them down to the beach and catch a photo...

Uh Oh!! I missed the ankle stage!! They're thigh high now! I did fly over northbound last week, but I'm downright queasy about parachuting from 30,000 feet! Or 1 foot, to be honest! I'm pretty darn certain that I'll still feel the same way on my southbound flyover next Saturday!

Nice looking dogs from a respectful distance....which one is Brutus & which is Killer??

They really are developing into very good dogs. I am already training them and they both are picking it up very quickly - they are very competitive. Choro is the black one - male. Diva is the red dobie and is a female. Diva still tries to establish herself as the alpha but Choro quickly and firmly puts her in her place when he tires of all the antics. Bottom line is that they both think they are "killers" but with us they are very sweet and stay close without the need for a leash whenever we take them out.

They do - they are all muscle and currently I think we are spending more on the food per week than our own. And to think that they still have 4-6 months of growth ahead?!?!?!
