A CHARITY EVENT SATURDAY, JUNE 2 2012 6:00PM - 10:00PM PORT PAVILION, BROADWAY PIER SAN DIEGO TICKETS: $75.00 Join us on Saturday June 2, 2012, when WiLDCOAST will host our inaugural Baja Bash at the Port Pavilion at the Broadway Pier on the San Diego harbor. The evening will be a celebration of all the natural beauty and exciting adventure Baja California holds and our work to conserve the peninsulas most beautiful and wild beaches, islands and lagoons along our shared coastline. The Baja Bash will bring the best of Baja to join with some of San Diego's favorites in a flavorful fiesta mixing food, drinks and music from throughout the region. We'll enjoy a sunset cocktail reception, Baja-inspired sustainable cuisine, a silent auction, photography exhibit and live music! · WiLDCOAST is thrilled to announce that Nortec Collective: Hiperboreal will bring their border region musical fusion to the Pavilion! Nortec hit the music scene in 2002, and since then this Grammy-nominated ensemble has impressed critics and crowds alike, from SXSW to the most notable venues in Europe and Japan. Based in Tijuana, Hiperboreal combines electronic music with musical elements from the northern region of Mexico. · In addition, a trio of rockstar chefs will create our menu, including internationally known chef and restaurateur Javier Plascencia, of Mision 19, who has been featured in the New Yorker and the Food Network; Diego Hernandez, the lead chef at Corazon de Tierra in the Valle de Guadalupe; and Benito Molina and Solange Muris, from Manzanilla in Ensenada. You wont want to miss their creative culinary creations! · To compliment our sustainable menu, well be featuring the wines of the Valle de Guadalupe, including Adobe Guadalupe, a premier winery from the area. Well also feature wines from Casa de Piedra, Paralelo and other unique wines from the wine country of Baja. And Peligroso Tequila will create a special WiLDCOAST margarita for us to toast during the sunset cocktail reception. In addition, we will be honoring Telemundo journalist Maria Celeste and Dr. Octavio Aburto, researcher at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, for their tireless efforts to educate the public about threats to our coasts and oceans. We will honor them this year as our first Defensores Del Oceano! More details will be posted regularly on our website and Facebook page as they are confirmed, so buy your tickets today! This is sure to be party of the year, so dont wait until the last minute! Proceeds from the event will benefit WiLDCOASTs continued efforts to conserve the most threatened coastal habitats and wildlife in the Californias and southern Mexico. We hope to see you there! Why is Wildcoast, a conservation group and charity, pimping Baja tourism? What's the payoff?

Hi Everyone:
Wildcoast is not "pimping" Baja tourism. We are hosting a charity fundraiser to benefit our efforts to preserve Baja's coast and ocean. However it is critical to support the Baja businesses and individuals who are doing everything they can to carry out sustainable fishing, farming and promoting the real Baja. Wildcoast works with eco-tourism operators and fishing communities throughout Baja to highlight and promote their sustainable endeavors that help to create incentives for local people to protect places like Cabo Pulmo, LA Bay, Mag Bay, San Ignacio Lagoon etc. etc. So we have to do everything we can to make sure people can see and experience the beauty of Baja---responsibly. After all-we just can't be against everything. It is essential that we are support and patronize the businesses and communities that make Baja the special place we love.
