Perseid Meteor Shower

Anybody down here have a chance to have seen it yet? Out here where we are at there are no city lights which allow us front row seats. We have seen some incredible sights the past few days including one that crossed the entire sky from NE to SW and appeared to have fallen into the ocean west of us.

It is supposed to peak this weekend,,,

I spent about 3 hours last night from about 11.00 PM looking but didn't see anything at all. :(

However, I did get a pretty good view of Jupiter and Venus as extremly bright stars that is just below the moon. :)

Tonight is somewhat overcast so I am not expecting anything again.

Oh this is is in Chametla, just outside of La Paz where the city lights have no effect.

BajaGringo, which direction are they skipping across? i.e. west > east .....

We saw several more last night but we are a ways north of you up here outside San Quintin. The general direction of the meteors (we have seen) seems to be NE to SW...

Looks like we might have a clear sky tonight.
Hopefully we can catch some action tonight. :)

Well, depending on the amount and type of beverages, and maybe some other stuff,,(wink) where you are at the time,,it could get Verrrry Interresting!!!! Lol

Must be better viewing in the North. I watched several times of evening/morning....Nada.

Last night we only saw a few compared to past evenings.

It was a perfect, clear evening for viewing - maybe we should have taken Nemo's advice...
