Default Headed south in December, where's the hotspots?

We are past planning and in to preparing for our trip south in December/January. We are experienced Baja travelers and we will be zig zagging the entire penisula. I am looking for any suggestions on the hot spots, we will be bringing our 20' Trophy and and my brother in law is bringing a smaller bay boat. We are so far planning on Asuncion, Mulege, Puerto Escondido, La Paz and SJD/Cabo. We would like to get in to some YT, Roosters, Dorado, Marlin and of course Grouper, Cabrilla etc... so I was just wondering if we can kick off this new forum with some advice from the fisherman out there. Thanks, Steve

Thanks for starting the new fishing forum. I don't fish any longer, but I like to read about you folks that do.
Have a good trip when you come down and keep us posted.

Wish I could help.
All those places are south of where I have fished.

They have been catching a lot of white sea bass here outside the bay lately and have personally seen several large groupers that were caught on the north side of San Martin Island out here in front.

In January the action tends to cool down but lots of rock cod, calico and other smaller fish to be caught...

We will stop for a night or two in San Q but its never been very warm there this time of year and after coming from colder weather and rain in Oregon we really want to get further south. I have read quite a bit about the fishing there and hopefully we will be putting together a trip when it is warmer. Until then we will stop for a night or two and hit up the local restaurants for the fresh fish and seafoods from the area, YUMMMM.

Baja has two hot spots:

1) Sea of Cortez
2) Pacific Ocean

Go have a blast, leave some fish for the rest of us!
