Car ferry in La Paz?

I saw on the map that there is a car ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan. Have any of you ever used it? How often does it run? Price? Reliable? Safe?

No silly questions here... always ask and you will get answers, some of them may be valid!

There are car ferries from La Paz to Topolobampo (port for Los Mochis) and Santa Rosalia to Guaymas, as well.
