is La Ventana an area near La Paz? More importantly why aren't there direct flights from San Diego to La Paz, or anywhere other than San Jose Del Cabo (in baja).

There are non-stop flights to La Paz from Tijuana, just a few miles south from San Diego. Probably cheaper too...

And I don't like going to Tijuana with all my dive gear, I really don't like going to TJ for any reason these days for security reasons.
