Default Who are the "Rescate Halcones " in Rosarito Beach?

Twice yesterday in Rosarito Beach I saw this EMT outfit responding to emergency calls. Once was a car accident in front of the Ortega's Buffet. The second was when we called 066 and requested the Red Cross when a boy on the beach stepped into campfire coals. It took 20 minutes for them to come while the boy screamed his head off and the parents freaked out (they applied first aid cream). We brought out some ice packs for the boy, which helped somewhat with the pain. 20 minutes response time for a central Rosarito response? If it had been a heart attack the person surely would have died.

Where did the Red Cross go? Who are these guys? Are they free? Did the Red Cross finally go belly up here? I'm very curious about this since the Red Cross just had it's annual funding drive here in April.

Thanks for all the info. I was just wondering how they became the "First Responders" here. Not really comforting to know our lives are in the hands of unpaid volunteers with a 20 minute response time though.

That's why from a personal or family standpoint it may pay to have private medical ambulance service especially that would transport you to the US Border.

I dunno. Maybe I was supposed to dial them direct and not call 066? Perhaps this volunteer group is helping for the holiday weekend. It's not a bad idea, it just took me by surprise.

The private ambulance service to the border from Rosarito is called a Taxi. Not fancy but no waiting.

When we had our acccident on Corridor 2000 near Popotla, the Red Cross showed up before the dust settled...........very professional crew. I made a substantial donation to them a week later.

We donate to them as well. Hopefully someone will have the answer.
