I was in VEGAS with my son! This was my every 5 year trip. The room was free and from what I won on the slot machines I had a free vacation! The one thing that has changed the most was the food. It seems that the restaurants are all trying to "out-do' each other and we had the best meals ever! Downtown is still for the indigent evident by the drunks sleeping right in front of the casinos on Fremont Street. The strip is a zoo at night besides every few feet someone is trying to give you a business card size advertisement for an outcall service. What was a little odd was that I didn't see one police officer walking a beat or cruising in a patrol car. I would assume that every inch of Vegas is patrolled by video camera now and if needed they would be there in seconds. All in all we had a great father-son vacation...The Pro Bass Store was a real trip. First time there. Looking forward to our next trip in five more.

I have to admit that we've been wondering the same thing! We are in the process of selling all our furniture and getting ready to move to the Baja (Rosarito or south -- but not too far south) area in October.

We have a web board here (Chapala.com) that is VERY active. Not a day goes by that there aren't many posts on many subjects. It is the local "what is going on -- to whom and why and when, etc.,)

I'm not sure what the difference is. Maybe we have more people here who like to gossip? Maybe you guys are more laid back and not that interested in the local day to day goings on? .... or maybe we just don't understand the Baja culture yet!

We don't know for sure, but we will soon see ......... and we are looking forward to it! Change is a good thing and we are open to whatever the Baja brings.

thanks for your time

I'm not sure it's worth it, but it doesnt cost much and gives you another option you wouldn't otherwise have. Senti is way better, but at least it's something.

We live in Boulder City, 30 miles s/e of the LV Strip. The Strip has a pretty active Uniformed bicycle patrol as well as several plain clothes police officers. I agree it is a zoo at night. that's why we don't go there then.

Sounds like you have not yet been to Baja Nomad? Many of us were there before Ron made this forum and some of us contribute to both.
