The hot topic. The president of Brazil just bowed out of a visit with Obama over this. Germany buzzed the US Embassy last week looking for uber-sensitive microphones allegedly being used to eavesdrop on Germany. This is all fallout from information being released piecemeal by the guy hiding out in Russia- Edward Snowden.

imho, I pretty much accepted the NSA was pretty good at what they do all along. The intelligence agencies take a huge chunk of the federal budget. What did people think our spy agencies were doing? Not spying? Why would we wait for the Chinese and hackers and play catch-up? We went to the moon back in 1969 and this is more scientific innovation. PRISM comes to mind. Good for us for being vigilant. jmho of course...

Not a bit. I'm a little disgusted at how sloppily these secrets were handled and guarded. All these countries come to the USA when they need top-level information, why do they act surprised when there is a file on them too? Public show.

Human Nature:
- We become complacent in time. = Our disgust when things don't go as planned.
- We want everything to be cheap. = Contract it out = loss of control.
- We all eventually feel a sense of guilt with a need to say we are sorry. = Whistle Blowers!
