Default American Legion - Ensenada

The purpose of this message is to gauge the interest of veterans in the area in forming an American Legion Post.

At this time this is just an interest survey. If enough interest exists, a planning meeting will be held at a future date.

If you are interested in this endeavor please stop by or e-mail:

Confused Re: American Legion - Ensenada

Maybe the vets in D.C. will have a positive impact (rally the public) on our screwed-up gov'mint. I can only hope.

How about that "Halls of Montezuma" marching song? Ya think that would work?

In what way? Is a celebration of Cinco De Mayo in San Diego disrespectful to the US?

There are approximately 18 other American Legion Posts in Mexico, most do public service and contribute to the community, as they do in the states.

Isn't Cinco De Mayo celebrated in the U.S. more than in Mexico.

I thought I asked a valid question why would anyone want to be part of something like that.

I guess some people just like to get together.
Don't you remember American Legion bars, John? Lotsa fun at affordable prices. There's one on the bayfront in Newport Beach that has always been popular.

Yes I remember the Legion and VFW every time I went in one I was made to feel like I was intruding because I wasn't a Veteran of the BIG WAR.
Although that began to change when the Women's Axillary membership became larger than the Men's . The membership became a little more receptive of other Veteran's.

How about belonging to a group of people with similar interests and experiences.........the military.

Is belonging to a group such as that being disrespectful???

Hey, John......maybe it was not them, maybe it was you. How much did you participate??? You are in charge if your own feelings, Other people are not.

This post was NOT to start a debate, it was providing information. If you or others want to debate this post, start a separate post of your own.

I was just curious as to why anyone would want to join. for many years I lived next door to the Head Potentate to the local V F W he was a Navigator on a B29 my Grand Father and Both of his sons ( my uncles) were very active in both the American legion and V F W the uncles were Lifers in the Army Air Force. 30 year E9 Master Sergeants. Maybe in the day they had something to be proud of.
The thought of becoming a member never appealed to me.
