Default Rotisered Chickens

We loved going to El Charro in Ensenada for their rostisered chickens cooked over mesquite. They had a bicycle rim as a pulley. After about 45 yrs. they moved across the street about 8 yrs. ago? I think they are out of business now. Does anyone know of a similar place in the Rosarito Beach area?

We use to go there almost daily back in the day after surfing 3ms or stacks (before the seawalls) For 2 bucks get a half chicken, big plate of fries and a cold corona...OLE...Sorry to hear they finally folded...

Most everyone in town seems to split, flatten, marinate and grill their chickens. All the home delivery (Pollo Asil) and roadside joints grill theirs. The giant Commercial grocery store has rotisserie chickens and so does Costco in TJ, but I can't think of a restaurant that displays and serves them up.

sorry Willard- I was slightly off-topic and talking about Rosarito.

I thought that they had closed down that location also. I guess somehow I missed it on my last visit about 6 months ago.

I do remember years ago they were on the north side of the main drag close to Hussoungs and then moved to the south side and down a little bit. I got to be honest, before they moved across the street I took my new girlfriend there (she was very skeptical) and we got a couple of pollos to go with some tortillas for breakfast and she got sick. What ya gonna do...

Some people can think themselves sick just because they are in Baja and have heard the stories.
