Default Unusual Visitor

We had a visitor cruising just outside the surf breaks at Punta Pequeña yesterday. I've never seen a Killer Whale in the wild before, and didn't realize how big they are. This one was probably 20 feet or bigger. The dorsal fin appeared to be nearly 6 feet tall. It slowly swam from just outside 4th to 3rd point over about 30-40 minutes. I don't know if it was coincidence, but there two (what we think were Humpback) whales that moved inside the bay and stayed there until the Killer Whale moved on.

Only a couple well offshore. We usually don't see many until late January

It's not a great white Legs.

Have seen quite a few here in the Sea. Beautiful animals and sometimes quite approachable.

Usually travel in pods.

ANY animal that's got the word "killer" in it's name, causes me to be stay-out-of-the-water-leery!
