Default Driving Cadillac in Baja

I know this is a weird question, but I need honest answers...I would like to drive from CA to San Felipe - would it look pretentious to drive a Cadillac? Would it attract crime? I suppose I could use our Camry, but the Cad's so much more comfortable for long trips, What's the consensus? (I can't afford renting a car)

You don't say what year. I'm assuming late model. Guess you're going down through Mexicali. That stretch is one of the least likely for you to get into trouble. Consider this as well. Camrys are a dime a dozen, and much more easily "moved" in the black market. Your "pretentious" Caddy would be much harder to get rid of. Now, if you're just talking about people looking at someone driving a Caddy and feeling resentful it might be slightly different story. But not much. If it was me, I wouldn't worry for a second.

Go for it. Your obscene wealth will blend right in down here. There are Escalades all over the place here with local plates. It's the new Baja.

Obscene wealth? wow - whatever! I guess you missed the part where I said I can't afford to rent a car...

Yes, Bajahowodd, I would go that route, thanks.

Curiosity finally got me and I linked to the recipe....I was surprised because I associate Cadillac with Galliano and thought it would sub the anise flavor for the orange. Sounds delicious and I'll give it a shot...or two.

Just don't wash it before youir trip... In fact, get it covered in mud... It will blend in better.

(PS, just kidding... have fun)

Hey Kauinca,

You're supposed to take pictures of your first batch of Cadillac's served on the hood of your Caddy and post them for us to drool over...

...

You'll fit right in~

Or just come to our house warming party when we finally move in. I strongly suspect there may be some cadillac's being served at the new place...

Ron- I'm going out on a limb here, but it struck me that considering your vast contacts, your housewarming party may cost more than your house.
