Hey, just discovered a cool feature of this forum. As i was typing a response to a post, Baja Gringo was also. When I clicked to submit my post, a message came up that said something like:

"there has been another post on this topic since you began responding. Would you like to preview your post before submitting ?"

How-do-it-know that I take forever to write my posts sometimes? On nomad, sometimes there will have been 10 posts made before I get a response in, and if the topic has strayed or if my post repeats what someone else has said, I'll go back and delete it to prevent boring folks to tears.

This preview prompt is a nice feature and should prevent "double-talking"

Glad you noticed that and approve. I like that feature too and will be adding a few more as time goes on. We are really trying top make this forum "user friendly".

Please let us know when you have any questions / suggestions...

I don't mean to be too critical, but it seems that I have to go through an awful lot of subsets (?) to get to a discussion. I guess I'm whining and shouldn't be cuz I'm retired!

Why not use the button--- Latest Post to got to the recent post since your last visit.

You can also use--- View New Post --- to go to post since your last visit.

What's a subset? Never heard the word before.

That's why you have to use the "QUOTE" feature. It isolates the statement with your response, regardless of when you put it up.....just as my reply to you here.

I think he's talking about starting at the Home(index) page link at the top left of every page, then clicking Feedback / Comments / Forum News & Updates, then clicking Questions - Comments - Suggestions, then finally clicking Cool forum feature to get to this thread.

I use the Latest Posts link at the top right of every page.

The reason we set up the forum this way is to make the forum more google friendly. They are changing their algorithm for searches and the more specific your site is set up to follow search words the more likely you will appear at the top of the rankings. They have another change in that structure coming this summer and it will become even more restrictive. This current format will have us ready for that day.

Just putting all the threads in a couple of sub-forums under the title of Baja and not providing more path structure and specific realted terms will leave us in what they call "too general".
