Wow!

We just went over a thousand posts which is about 995 more than I expected to have about right now. I have finally gotten the modification packages installed that I wanted along with the template changes and a few other bugs and features I wanted fixed/tweaked. All that is left is to create the forum portal page and we will be ready for the official roll out.

Ooops...

I guess a certain well known forum member let the cat out of the bag already (we won't mention any names) [DAVID K] which is why you are here and we have already reached a thousand posts.

It's all good and has given me some real time posting history to work out some of the bugs. It also will help us to hit the ground running. I do have the help of a few other key players behind the scenes and the forum will heavily depend on their help and your cooperation with their management of the forum. Some may be identified in the forum titles and a few others are not. Who they are is not as important as the fact that we will keep the forum on tract and play by the rules. Problems will certainly arise in such a place as an online forum but I know we can always work things out and keep things moving forward.

We do have a very strong NO-TROLL POLICY here on TalkBaja. If you see posting or message behavior that reminds you of any of the said behaviors in that reference, just flag the post for the moderating team to look at and they will take appropriate action.

Trolls will simply not be tolerated here. They will be singled out and assigned a special avatar so that any posts of theirs we choose to leave behind will be quickly identified as a TROLL. It goes a long way to decrease their incentive, although I am sure they will try anyway.

The portal page will be up in the next day or so and once that is done we will begin some outside marketing to bring in new traffic to the forum. I expect we will see some familiar faces as well as a lot of new faces many of you aren't familiar with. This will bring some new blood and chemistry to the forum and I ask that you forum "Vets" play nice and help to make them feel at home here.

Congrats BG! I really like the forum you are building here, the feel and especially your troll policy. I think a lot of people are going to like this place. You are off to a good start!

No, it is a not a democracy and no, we are not holding elections for forum management positions.
