Building Baja 101
Ok, I know that I am new here, but I had to share this information. It's a guide book on building in Baja.
Now some of you are seasoned professionals so you'll know all about this, but for those (like me ) who got taken to the cleaners, here ya go: Before selecting your builder, please read this book, "This Ol Casa, Building in Cabo 101, A layman's guide to building a baja dream home" author C. Phil Osso. It is available online through amazon and barnes and noble. I would attach a copy of the front of the book, but my printer is on a union strike, no I don't know why I didn't even know it was a union thing! So, anyway, back to the book. In this book you will find the most up to date and accurate information available today. I personally lost several hundred thousand dollars by not having the correct information (yeah, don't listen to your friends, ok) and later found the author of this book through a local newspaper, the gringo gazette, where he was a columnist. I highly recommend him, he is smart, he's articulate, his wit will amuse you and he won't bs you, like so many others here. He is the real deal! Best of luck to you! |

Re: Building Baja 101
I had lots of folks give me well intenioned advice along thew way with our home building project. Some of it was very valuable and some of it was pure caca. I just did my own homework and used a lot of common sense. Having built a home in Argentina 25 years ago sure helped as well.

Thanks Baja Gringo, I couldn't get my scanner to work. I think it's infested with the same demon that had my modem last week.....
