Because I'm in the process of remodeling our condo I am considering using another type of product than the standard granite that we all see.

Radon is a serious problem; often underestimated IMHO. While in the Navy and qualifying at the Bettis Labs Facility in the SE Idaho desert our radiation monitor alarms would go off inside the plant. We were getting more ambient radiation from radon in the ground surrounding the plant than from the reactor itself.

Spooky if you ask me and something I would prefer to keep out of my kitchen...
